Comfort Zones

Comfort has been on my mind a lot recently. Deep down at my core I love to be comfortable. Honestly, don’t most people? I love to be warm and cozy. With fluffy socks and warm blanket. I like when things are easy. I like when the writing flows out of me. I like when the baby is on his best behavior, i like when Tyson and i are getting along. I like when my house is clean and smells good. I like when I want to go to the gym, I like doing the exercises that don’t push me too hard. God forbid I break a sweat. I like to watch tv to wind down at night. I like to do it with a cocktail in hand.
And. I am in a love war against comfort, and I think we all “should” be at least on and off for most of our life. Why? Because change does not happen in our comfort zones. Do we all need to change? Do i need to change? I asked this in my meditation this morning. The answer was “No you don’t have to change, not for the reasons you are thinking”. I don’t have to change because I am seeking some perfect version of myself, some idealist, minimalist, looks good feels good all the time version of myself. That is bu*%sh*+. But incremental, soft, shifts towards a healthier, less attached, eyes wide open version of yourself YES. This is the change we are seeking.
This is where Simplicity comes in to save the day again. To answer this call and create teensy attacks on comfort. Micro commitments and challenges that strengthen the muscles of living with less (making space for MORE). That ease us into a reality that is not so dependent on everyone around us being on their best behavior and everything going our way all the time. My commitment this month is to watch less TV with my husband at night (2 nights a week no tv). We love this ritual, and we are running around all day, working, farming, keeping a toddler alive. We do not feel like we are undeserving of this time to unwind, but this challenges us to reimagine this time, and see what is possible outside of the #comfort zone. 🔑📒What is a small commitment to combatting comfort that you could take this month? #comfortchallenge #simplicity #waroncomfort #lifecoach #love #changemaker #monthlychallenge #freedom #womeninbusiness
